RICHARD LANE’S 2025/26 ROUND UP
Abacus Lighting Central Midlands Alliance Premier Division Roundup for November 22nd
For a second Saturday running the weather ripped holes in the fixture list leaving only four of the scheduled ten second round ties in the Buckingham Insurance League cup, the Sheffield/ Wakefield area again coming off best. The second and third placed teams in the Premier North met, Kinsley Boys and Brodsworth Main drawing 2-2. Kinsley must have thought they were through, Brad Dockerty finding the net after just 25 seconds and Lucas Stubbs on 37 minutes giving them a lead which they held until the closing stages. There were just six minutes remaining when Jayden Yarrow finally got Brodsworth a lifeline and five minutes into added time when Mohamed Diagabate sent the tie to penalties where Kinsley finally reached the third round, shading the shootout4-3. At Wombwell the match between Elite AFC and Harworth Colliery was also settled from the spot although Harworth must be wondering how theyfound themselves in that situation. The visitors caught their opponents cold and were three up in the first 14 minutes with Cory Goodwin netting after 6 minutes, Billy Stafford adding a second just two minutes later and Rob Singer giving them the perfect start. To their credit, Elite dug deep, Tommy Pallett and Harry Douglas sending them in at the interval just one adrift. Sammy Amissah equalised in the second half, with the hosts squeezing through 6-5. A third tie almost ended in the same fashion, Ollerton Town almost forcing a late levelleron their visit to Burngreave United. Ollerton took an early lead, Harvey Limb putting them in front in the 5th minute. Despite being under pressure for most of the half, the lead held until the stroke of half time when Umar Muhammed equalised. Pressure was turned into goals with Umar Muhammed putting Burngreave out in front as he completed his hat trick on 51 and 57 minutesbefore ending an eventful afternoon by receiving a straight red ten minutes later. Ollerton’s hopes of taking something from the game were raised five minutes from time when Joshua Gwitera pulled one back but time ran out before they could find an equaliser. SJR Worksop are also through after a 2-0 win at AFC Phoenix, an own goal in 27 minutes followed by one from Alex Boyd midwwaythrough the second half proving sufficient.
In the Camper UK Premier South there was at last some joy for Mansfield Hosiery Mills who finally ended their nightmare run with a 3-1 win against Mickleover Reserves, their first since late August. It must have felt horribly familiar when George Cunningham gave ic the lead on 25 minutes, but the Mills didn’t capitulate and drew level with a goal in the 37th minute from Denny Bush. Five minutes into the second half Michael Olopade put the hosts in front, the win confirmed by sub Maxwell Hunt’s 63rd minute strike. Bakewell Town’senterprise in replacing their home cup tie against Derby Singh Brothers with theaway league match went unrewarded, Singhs taking advantage and all three points, winning 4-2. They went two up through Jagtar Dhanoa and Tyler Johal, Bakewell drawing level thanks to Matt Kelcey and John Ballington but further strikes from James Grewal-Pollard and Troy Carty ensured the points stayed in Derby. Blidworth Welfare took their winning run to six in all competitions with a 5-2 win at Mickleover Athletic. Scorers for Blidworth were Henry Eastgate with two, George Dyson, Riley Barton on his debut and Elliot Couldwell from 40 yards with Cole Hassell and Jamie Laird replying for Athletic. Selston kept up their challenge at the top with a 3-1 defeat of Linby Colliery. Following a goalless first half Selston finally broke the deadlock two minutes after the restart with a goal from Elliott Bland, Arthur Pashley increased the lead after 63 minutes, before Leighton Bowering put the game out of reach with 77 minutes on the clock, Linby finally getting on the scoresheet in the 88th minute from thepenalty spot.
Two matches only in the Premier North, Teversal and RHP Sports meeting for the third time this season with the score one game each. The home side took the lead after 17 minutes, the impressive Ty Macaskill with the goal. RHP had their chances but it was Macaskill again who increased Teversal’s lead on 34 minutes. a quick double shortly before half time for Macaskill, completing an excellent hat trick, and Josh Parfitt, put Tevie four up, the scoreline perhaps a little flattering. The second half saw RHP come out fighting, Ryan Attwood reducing the deficit two minutes after the restart, Seb Headley getting a secondsix minutes later. That’s how it ended, the visitors not helped by several injuries which left them with ten men for the last twenty minutes. in the other match Staveley Reserves and Rossington Main Reserves played out a goalless draw

Abacus Lighting Central Midlands Alliance Roundup for November 15th
MIDWEEK
Four matches this midweek, two on Tuesday, two on Wednesday, two in the Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup, two in the Derbyshire Senior Cup. For the second time in three days Teversal hosted Rossington Main Reserves. The league match on Saturday resulted in a four goal win for the home team, the Floodlit Cup tie proved to be a lot closer, Tevie progressing by a single goal from Ty Macaskill in the 29th minute. Meanwhile, Staveley Reserves had the # perfect start in their game with Burngreave United, Leo Rimmer putting them ahead within aminute, their place in Round Two confirmed by James Millar in the 38th minute. There were contrasting fortunes in the Derbyshire Senior Cup.Borrowash Victoria had an excellent 3-1 win at Step 6 Stapenhill. All of their goals came in the first half, Marcus Tudgay’s 6th minute opener followed by his second on 37. Four minutes later Ethan Watson made it three here was no way back for their opponents, who finally found the net four minutes from the final whistle. Graham Street will want to forget their tie at Sandiacre Town. Playing without a recognised keeper they subsided to a 6-0 defeat
Not for the first time it was 4G pitches to the rescue on Saturday with three of the four surviving matcheson artificial surfaces. Match of the day was the clash between the joint leaders of the Camper UK Premier North division Dinnington Town and Kinsley Boys. After the final whistle the pair were still bracketed together following a 3-3 draw. Kinsley went off at half time a goal to the good, Lucas Stubbs scoring after 39 minutes. Jordan Turner turned things aroundwith a quick double, the first on 61 minutes, the second five minutes later. Not to be outdone Kinsley retook the lead with two in just two minutes from Brad Dockerty and Jamie Bettison. With timerunning out Dinnington pulled back what might be,even this early in the season, a highly significant point, Turner completing his hat trick four minutes into added time. Brodsworth Main took advantage of the result, consolidating their position in third, a late flourish giving them a 5-0 win at Worksop Town Reserves. The first half was goalless due mainly to Tigers keeper Olivier Rodzos, who pulled off a series of outstanding saves. The deadlock was finally broken on 70 minutes, Joe Smith’s opener followed a minute later by a second from Callum Stockton. The final few minutes saw Brodsworth improving their goal difference, Smith’s second coming on 86 minutes, and Stockton completing a quickfire hat trick before the 90 minutes were up. Burngreave United also had a profitable afternoon, thumping eight past Rossington Maun Reserves. Umar Mohammed got a hat trick and there was one each for Danai Rhule, Aemad Gadour, Abu Sama, Abdulrahman Asad and Ben Lema. One game actually took place on grass, Holbrook St Michaels somehow managing to stage their Premier South match with Blidworth Welfare. Unfortunately for them they weren’t rewarded, as Blidworth, despite missing a 6th minute penalty, went on to win 2-0, Henry Eastgate scoring both goals.

Abacus Lighting Central Midlands Alliance Roundup for November 8th
This week’s midweek action centred on the first matches in this year’s Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup. First of all. last week’s opening game which slipped through the net, Harworth Colliery coming from behind to defeat Glapwell who took the lead with a goal from Oscar Bannister in the 17th minute and retained it until added time at the end of he first halfwhen Jason Kearsley got the equaliser. As the match looked likely to be settled from the penalty spot, the home side went in front for the first time, Joe Lang’s84th minute goal sending Harworth into Round Two. On Tuesday , in dreadful conditions, Blidworth Welfare and Mansfield Hosiery Mills undertook the trek to North Lincolnshire, the two ties having very differing outcomes. Blidworth faced a strong Crowle Colts Development squad, taking the lead on 23 minutes Archie Ward finishing off a well crafted move to give the visitors the lead. With conditions worsening the game became scrappy. The equaliser came in the 71st minute, the ball swirling into the visitors’ six yard box, Crowle sub Jack Wilkins throwing himself at the ball to head home the equaliser. It took just four minutes for Blidworth to settle things Finn Brookes on his debut in the right place to get the final touch to another slick move to send Blidworth home happy. Mansfield Hosiery Mills’ journey home must have seemed a long one after they were turnedover by Appleby Frodingham’s Development team, the final score 6-0. Mills were only one down until the final minute of the first half when Ben Hayward, who had scored the opening goal in the 19th minute, added a second. The second half was rather different, Frod adding to their total at regular intervals. Seb Glynn’s goal on 55 minutes was followed by Josh Lawrence on 67 and Alfie Comerford nine minutes later, Oliver Wells completing the half dozen five minutes from time. This extended the visitors’pointless run to seven games in which they havescored just three times. For the second time in ten days Selston hosted Holbrook Sports, who , on both occasions, were left regretting the final few minutes in which they conceded, first two points, and this time a place in round two. Holbrook made it to the 83rd minute a goal up, Brad Daly having scored afterjust twelve minutes, but were then reduced to tenmen. Three minutes later Selston were awarded a penalty which Liam Taylor put away. Holbrook then lost a player to the sin bin, and in the final minuteSelston completed the turnaround, Dec Whittonputting the hosts into the next round. Ollerton Town’s enterprise in staging a firework display before their game against Linby Colliery was deservedlyrewarded by a crowd of over 600, some of whom will hopefully return on match days. Unfortunately, success off the pitch wasn’t matched on it, the home side exiting the competition by a single goal a minute before half time scored by Paddy Stefaniak. Although Ollerton exerted sustained pressure in the second but were repeatedly thwarted by Linby keeperJack Walker who was outstanding throughout.Dinnington Town were slow starters in their game against Worksop Town Reserves, who went in frontthree minutes before half time with a goal from Alex Russell. It took Dinnington until the 67th minute to draw level, Josh Stead the scorer. Liam Royles put them in front with twelve minutes, The final resultremained in the balance until five minutes into addedtime when Connor Peace hit number three.
SATURDAY MATCHES
Camper UK Premier North leaders Dinnington Townhave acquired the profitable habit of scoring goals in the late stages of their games and used it to extend their goal difference, three goals in an eleven minute spell helping them to a 5-0 win against Ollerton Town. Craig Nelthorpe gave them a 21st minute leadwhich they held until the 69th minute before they turned up the heat with a Brad Kerr double on 75 and 81 minutes, followed by a fifth from Jordan Turner four minutes from time put Dinnington three points clear at the top. With Kinsley Boys out of action, Brodsworth Main missed the chance to go level in second, going down 4-1 at home to AFC Phoenix, who went in front on 20 minutes through Cole Whitham. Callum Stockton levelled things on 35, only for Danny Fisher to restore the lead two minutes later. Luke Moorhouse added a well timed third a minute after the restart, before Taonga Chuba turned the screw in added time. Well travelled striker Josh Parfitt grabbed a hat trick to propel Teversal to a 4-0 win against Rossington Main Reserves. Parfitt struck in the 5th, 64th and 80th minutes with Kurtis Bamford getting the fourth just a minute later. The two sides meet again in the Floodlit Cup on Tuesday night. Harworth Colliery also picked up maximum points, their 2-0 defeat of SJR . Worksop keepingthem in the top four, Callum Edwards giving them a 12th minute lead Billy Stafford with number two midway through the second half. AFC Bentley took full advantage of a totally dismal display from RHP Sports enabled them to run in six unopposed goalswhich came at regular intervals throughout the 90 minutes. Haris Diabagate scored twice, the others shared between Craig Aspinall, George Hughes, Dven Hannan and Daniel Dickinson. Burngreave United won their first game of the season in style, 5-2 at Worksop Town Reserves. Goals from Amir Mohamed, Umar Muhammed and Hassan Mohamed gave the visitors a comfortable half time lead, Umar increasing it six minutes after the break,. Alex Russell got one back for the Tigers midway through the half, Muhammed Shebani adding Burngreave’s fifth before Luke Abdy had the last word for Worksop a minute from time. Only four matches in the Premier South Division, but quite significant with the top two both losing. The prospects looked good for Graham Street Prims at Gresley Rovers Reserves they went two up in the opening 16 minutes Blaise Duruaku and Tris Elpossible start. It stayed that way until the last quarter when a late revival by Gresley resulted ina complete turnaround as they scored three times, Cameron Briscoe with two and Davis Kommeyshocking the leaders. Selston also went down at home to Derby Singh Brothers who were in the lead on 10 minutes thanks to a goal from Jagtar Dhanoa. Tyler Johal made it two in the 38th minute to leave Singhs well placed at the break. Selston got one back, Wayne Cooke giving them some hope on 55 minutes, but that disappeared in the 68th minute when Usama Aslam’s deflected shot settled the destination of the points. Cromford and Wirksworth United’s 7-0 defeat of Mansfield Hosiery Mills was completely overshadowed by a serious injury to Josh Henshaw, confirmed as a fracture of both his tibia and fibula after recently returning from a cruciate ligament injury in the same leg. It goes without saying that we wish him a full recovery as soon as possible. The match itself was, as the score suggests, rather one sided with Matt Wilkinson’s hat trick backed up byGianluca Gandola, Phil Griffiths, Mitch Gregory and, before his injury, Josh Henshaw. A closely fought 90 minutes between Melbourne Dynamo and Mickleover RBL finished all square at 1-1, Jack Goodband’s goal f Melbourne cancelled out by Emilio de Abreu.
There were still a few County Cup matches to hoover up with two in the Derby Divisional Cup North. Tintwistle Athletic provided the opposition for Bakewell Town at Tideswell. Bakewell failed to take advantage of a 20th minute penalty, their opponents taking the lead shortly afterwards. Ben Brownheaded the equaliser before the visitors got the winner five minutes into the second half. Staveley Reserves visited Buxton based The 19th Hole FC, winning 4-2, with Charlie Bingham scoring two, Josh Nichols and Alex Coates with one each. In the Junior Cup South Markeaton beat Melbourne Dynamo Reserves 3-2, Duffield Dynamo saw off Derby Gazers by the same score, with Wirksworth Ivanhoe Reserves went out on penalties to Willington after a 1-1 draw.

Abacus Lighting Central Midlands Alliance League Premier Division and County Cup Roundup – November 1
The Notts and Derbyshire FA County Cups almost wiped out the Camper UK Premier Divisions this week. Almost but not quite. There were five matches in the Camper UK Premier North with the majority of the teams based in South Yorkshire. The top four all gained maximum points, Dinnington Town justremaining at the top after a 3-1 win at SJR Worksop. They had a profitableopening half, the game sparking into life in the 26th minute, Jack Cully opening the scoring, Tom Bishop doubling the lead a minute later. Cameron Evans made it three after 41 minutes leaving SJR with a mountain to climb. They made it to base camp with a goal after 71 minutes, but couldn’t get any further before time ran out. Kinsley Boys are just one goal behind after another 3-1 win, this time against Burngreave United. It took 35 minutes for Kinsley to take the lead through Bradley Dockerty, Burngreave equalising almost immediately, the goalcoming from Jake Morrison before Jack White gave the visitors the lead again with 41 played. The destination of the points remained in the balance until ten minutes from the end, when Lucas Stubbs delivered the killer blow. Brodsworth Main played their first home game under their new name, finally overcoming a tenacious Elite AFC 2-0. The hosts withstood considerable early pressure before taking the lead in the 25th minute Callum Stockton the scorer. The second half saw both keepers bringing off excellent saves before Stockton again struck in the 68th minute to clinch the win. Harworth Colliery scored four times in the last 25 minutes in their 5-0 defeat of RHP Sports. There was precious little between the teams in the first half, the visitors unlucky to reach the interval a goal behind, Rob Singer scoring after 24 minutes. Harworth had used long, flatthrow-ins very effectively, their second goal in the 65th minute coming from one of them converted by Billy Stafford. This was followed by an eight minute spellin which Harworth added three further goals, Singer getting his second after 77 minutes, Callum Edwards adding two in the closing minutes, the final scorelinerather harsh on the visitors. Glapwell travelled to the new look Phoenix and took a well deserved lead, Tony Evans the scorer, on 25 minutes, which they held until three minutes after half time when Kevin Isingoma put away the equaliser. Glapwell were back in front in the 79th minute with a goal from Oscar Bannister, but two minutes later the scores were again level, Danny Fisherensuring a share of the points for the hosts. The Premier South Division was reduced to a single match, leaders Graham Street Prims increasing their advantage to nine points over their rivals who have games in hand but I imagine would rather have points in the bag. Prims seem to have acquired the useful habit of scoring early goals which was the case in their clash with Holbrook Sports. It took just two minutes for Aaron Harvey to put the home side in front and only five more for Brad Daly to equalise and two more for Breeyan Grainger to put Prims in front again. Alex Seale extended thelead on 20 minutes, and that remained the score at half time. Holbrook put the pressure on, Harry Chiarelli reducing the gap to a single goal, but couldn’t find another, Prims holding on for the 3-2 win.
And so to the 23 County Cup ties. Beginning with Derbyshire’s Divisional Cups, the North section proved successful, all four matches ending in wins for our teams. Sleetmoor United won 4-1 at Buxworth, with Morgan Booth scoring two, Oliver Hallam and Rowan Kelly also on the scoresheet. Rowsley 86 needed penalties to see off Chapel Town following a 3-3 draw, Jacob Hodgson, Aaron Eyre and Marcel Deichmann, the scorers with the shootout ending 5-4 in Rowsley’s favour. The other two ties were all CMAL affairs. Cromford & Wirksworth Town beat AFC Normanton 3-1, all three goals coming from set pieces, finished off twice by Joe Bean twice and Ben Cartwright. Wirksworth Ivanhoe overwhelmed Shirebrook Soldiers 7-1, a Tom Mellor hat trick backed up by a Ewan Sutherill double, Sam Smith and Lewis Higton. The Divisional Cup South is usually a cert for the CMAL as we supply nearly all of the teams. All eight of yesterday’s second round matches went to our clubs, the outcome could already be decided. Punjab United thumped Heanor Reserves 5-0 with NiallWaters scoring four, Kirk Francis with the other one. Derby Singh Brothers had to struggle to get past Inter Belper, finally squeezing through with a Tyler Johal goal. Melbourne Dynamo , Newhall United 3-1, the reliable Jack Goodband with two and Tyler Withers one. The equally reliable Jamie Laird inspired Mickleover Athletic’s 3-2 defeat of Baobab United scoring all three of Athletic’s goals. Penalties separated Mickleover RBL and FC Sunnyhill after 90 minutes failed to produce a goal, Sunnyhill going through 4-2 from the spot. Adam Clark’s goal couldn’t prevent Ripley Town exiting the competition, visitors Rising Stars going through 2-1. Holbrook St Michaels advanced to the next round, coasting to a 5-1 win against Stapenhill Reserves.
The Notts FA Senior Trophy threw up one or two total mismatches, inevitable in a competition which covers four or five levels. Ollerton Town thumped nine past the South Notts Youth Team keeper, a result which will benefit neither side. Ollerton’s scorers were Elliott Nunn (3), Barnaby Smith (2), Ashley McEwan, Keegan Burton, Cameron Manning and an own goal. Blidworth Welfare won 9-1 at Phoenix Athletic, rather a surprise as at half time the sides were level at 1-1. On target for Blidworth were Archie Ward with four, Tris Burrell (3) , George Dyson and James Prentice. Selston managed seven against East Leake Robins Reserves thanks to Dale Fairfield and Connor Ward with two each, Henley Hayward, Tom Batterham and Liam Taylor. A poor day for Ashland Rovers, their first team and reserves losing to AJ Sport Reserves and Collingham Reserves respectively. Linby&n
